I painted this for the 2026 Foothills Plein Air Festival at Grassy Creek Vineyards in Elkin North Carolina. This was the view from behind the Klondike Cabins at The Vineyards. The lake reflected like a mirror most of the time we were there. It was sheltered from the wind by the trees and surrounding hills and was a sanctuary, like so many lakes in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains.
