I painted this and several other paintings with a group of Plein-air painters in Hot Springs North Carolina near Asheville on the French Broad. We were there after Helene to raise money in an art event also connected and hosted by Scott Varn and Preserving a Picturesque America known as PAPA, not to be confused with Plein Air Painters of America also PAPA. This is an old historic organization with a history of publishing books featuring artist painting on location around beautiful spots in America. One of the additions featured this area so we were there to find the very spots where artists painted decades ago and paint there for ourselves. So carrying around a 50-year-old book looking at pictures trying to find the spot where the pictures were taken was an adventure!!
